Disability Matters

Disability Matters was formed in April 2006 by disabled people of the South Cotswolds.

Their aim is to produce a unique monthly publication via our website www.lawandbenefitreview.co.uk which will hopefully inform both disabled and elderly people of the constant changes in state benefits and pensions, care, disabled parking, access to buildings and transport, independent living, changes in legislation concerning the disabled and elderly and numerous others matters even remotely affecting the disabled and elderly. All this information in one place.

The website also contains pages of other useful information which viewers to the site may find useful. Each month, the Law and Benefit Review will contain special reports on two or three subjects, where in-depth investigations are carried out into one benefit, one piece of legislation, our another other matter. A growing a data base is also being constructed for information on the varying subjects matters may be stored for reference. Updates on the website are always being carried out as changes progress and until a final an analysis is produced showing how exactly the changes will effect disabled and elderly people.

Our office is open by telephone only during normal weekday office hours for people to contact us for more information. Tel. 01285 861752.

Cirencester Choral Society

Cirencester Choral Society has about 100 members and provides opportunities within the community for singers to become familiar with the works of the great composers. We aim to encourage people of all ages to work together in a friendly atmosphere to prepare music for a high standard of public performance under the direction of a professional conductor with professional soloists and orchestra.

Since the 1940s, our normal concert venue has been the fine Parish Church of St John in Cirencester's Market Place. At present though, due to planned refurbishments in the Church, the facilities provided by Bingham Hall, King Street enable us to continue to offer Cirencester and district the only regular performances of large scale classical music locally. We feel that gatherings of over 400, performers and audience, to enjoy good music make a real contribution to the cultural life of the community.

Our Season consists of two terms, September to December and January to May, each ending with a concert performance, and plans are afoot for additional activities. Rehearsals take place in St Peter's Hall, St Peter's Road on Tuesdays from 7.30 - 9.30pm.

Anyone interested in joining the society or supporting it in any way should contact us by going to our website: www.cirencester-choral-soc.org.uk
